| Statement of Faith
The Father- We believe that God is our Father in heaven and in our hearts. He is the Father of lights who dwells in unapproachable light, yet somehow we are able to apprehend him. Since we know that most people have father issues due to upbringing, it is our intention to issue the love of the Father God in ways that heal and restore.
The Son of God- We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Savior and Messiah, who died as a perfect sacrifice for us that we may live. That Christ died for us is one thing, and the vacuum of the Cross sucked up everything of us that is unsavory and anguishing, yet the resurrection is sure proof of the depth of God's love for us. Jesus Christ rose from the dead in order to fill the whole universe. He truly is everywhere, and in all who believe in him. Jesus rose from the dead that we may have life and life to its fullness. We live, now, because he is our life, the life principle of Divinity that surges through us and changes us. We owe our lives to him and it is in him that we live.
The Spirit- We believe that this is the age of the Spirit, the Spirit of truth, who lives inside every believer of God as a promise. As we walk in the Spirit and live by the Spirit we become more like our Lord, reflecting his glory and being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory. L'esprit is all about the Spirit and that is why we named our ministry "the spirit." The Spirit really does live in us and as we become one with the Spirit via our spirits we are able to transcend ordinary human experience, being all that we were meant to be.
The Word- We believe in the Word of God as it is represented in the Holy Scriptures. We also believe that God's Word is eternal, existing before the creation of the worlds. In fact, God opened his mouth, speaking his Word into a timeless void of empty space and planets flew out. The solar system as we know it and beyond what we know is represented in God's eloquent utterance. As we inhale this breath of God, his powerful word, we find that it is living and active and incisive and penetrating, able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. This Word, then, is as cataclysmic and creative in us as when God made the universe. As we ingest this Word of God it alters everything about us and around us.
The Presence- We believe that the greatest human experience is to encounter the Living God who has made a home in our hearts by the Spirit, so we endeavor to practice the presence of God in every avenue of our lives. We pray to this God within us, meditating on his vastness, and our hearts spring forth in praise for the God whom we adore. This is what we will do for all eternity, worship, so we aim to begin now.
The Manifestation of the Spirit- We believe in all the gifts in Scripture, which are also referred to as the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. We know that some counter that certain gifts are no longer in operation, yet why would Christ go to all that trouble to retrieve the gifts (he went to hell and back, you know) only to rescind them? Of particular relevance to us are the prophetic or revelatory gifts from the Spirit. This can be as simple as hearing from God and communicating God inspired truths to others. We can hear from God and see God, everyone of us, and this is just the kind of revelation that we seek in order to benefit ourselves and others and draw us nearer to our Lord. And yes, we not only believe that healing is possible now, but also miracles. We have seen God perform miracles in our groups and we have our sights set on more of this to the glory of God. Our motto is, whatever Christ did we can do, and more. This includes, but is not limited to, raising the dead, altering the physical environment (moving mountains and stopping wind storms), and healing the human heart and body of its ailments and wounds.
Essential Non-Essentials- We believe that there are many other beliefs that could capture our attention, yet we do not major on them. We will speak of them only as we have time. We agree with the Apostle Paul who at one point narrowed his focus to "Jesus Christ and him crucified." That and the resurrection of our Lord from the dead and what he wants us to do with this knowledge is just about all we want to talk about. We hold to the mandate of the Moravians, "In essentials, unity; In non-essentials, liberty; In all things, love."

| Love is Everything
Those of us who represent L'esprit come from all walks of life. We are about as normal as they come, yet we do not aim to remain ordinary. We are pressing in for more of the Lord, more of his Spirit, and more of his power. Most of all we desire more of his love. Love is truly all we need. If we could only experience the love of God to such a measure that we were able to carry it with us and dispense it to all we come into contact with, the world would be a better place. Wherever we walk we strive to exude the love of God to anyone and everyone, no matter the cost and in spite of how people may respond. May God's love saturate us, coursing through us so we can rise above the fitfulness and chaos of our lives to touch those who need it the most.
"Most (people) pray for power, the strength to do things. Few people pray for love, the quality to be someone."
Robert D. Foster
| | The Mercy of God
There is a young man in our community whom I have known for many years. He has been labeled with numerous psychiatric diagnoses since he was very young and has made more of a mess of things by indulging in excessive drug and alcohol use. He has been psychotic, delusional, and deranged by drugs. He has been incarcerated in our local jail many times and has been seen walking barefoot through our town. He has been homeless and at other times has made a car his home. His choices have gotten him nowhere and he was very lost. Yet at one decisive point, while at the end of himself, he lunged towards Jesus for help. This action was matched by, perhaps provoked by, the fervent prayers of those of us who love this young man very much. This boy, now a young man, was released from his habits, his compulsions, and his addictions, now able to live a life postmarked by God's merciful intervention. We also know that God performed a creative miracle because this young man's brain had been damaged. You see, all it takes for a miracle is believing prayer, a little waiting, and then God shows up. When you believe God for who he is and what he can do, anything can happen.
